Wetroom

I am going to install a wetroom in my bathroom and I understand you can do them level with your floor or have a step so it is above the floor

I want mine level with the floor but where I want to put it there was a bath before and the waste is above the floor level and not in the ground

The waste comes straight through the wall from the other bathroom in our house and so hard to bend it in to the floor without some effort from what I can see unless the pipe goes into the floor and the under the wet floor and up so some of the pipe would be visible in the shower

Anyone had a similar problem and how can you get the waste under the floorboards ?

  • aetbaar, if I understand you correctly the waste water from you bath used to flow through the wall to your other bathroom and on from there into the sewer. If this is the case then having some pipe visible when you bend the pipe under the wetroom floor would be the least of your problems as water does not flow uphill.

If your wetroom has an external wall and there is a soil pipe on the outside of that wall then running a new waste pipe under the floor and out through the external wall would probably be the easiest option (and capping off the existing pipe), but my best advise would be to seek help from an experienced tradesperson as you will need to ensure the correct diameter waste pipe and correct gradient of fall and wetroom installations in general are not really suited to the inexperienced DIYer.
  • Thanks for the advice and I agree that a separate waste pipe is probably better
