Hired Equipment insurance

Does any fellow money savers have any recommendations for insurance for hired in equipment.

I need to hire a total station and wanted to protect myself against the equipment getting damaged or stolen.

Any one got any ideas....

Hope you dont mind me asking here, I've searched google but not getting any specific results without being too general.

Are you hiring it as a business?

    And is it a one-off?

when we've hired in tools on a one off basis I've always assumed our standard tools & equipment insurance would cover the hired in stuff alongside our own stuff

    1. If you have any type of business property insurance, you may be able to add this for a period - make sure you have all risks cover for it and cover applies geographically where you need it.
    2. You can get a hired in plant policy.
    3. The hirer can insure it.

As it is I don't generally have any business insurance so don't have any standard tools & equipment insurance..
  • So as a business you don't have any public liability cover? Haha, and you are worried about a piece of hired in plant?
