Sheilas Wheels Renewal

I did my usual thing, called them today just before my wife's renewal and told them I'd like to cancel the auto renewal.
For the first time, they told me the renewal price was the best price they could offer and happily accepted the instruction to lapse from renewal.
A change of policy since they left the HBoS group?
Ah, well. M&S/Quidco cashback it is...

Did M&S offer you their clubcard?
They've got to make up for the loss they are making on your business somehow. Please keep us updated on the amount of spam / offers they send you in the post and email each month.
How much do you think HBoS made on loans and other associated business from Sheilas Wheels? Perhaps it made sense for them to keep their insurance rates artificially low?0 -
No card offer, no.
Spam? Get it from everywhere, despite "opting out" every time.
Esure/SW new business rates are still putting them high up the aggregator listings, but at renewal it was a formality to get a few quid off by making a quick phone call.

If your happy with Budget then go ahead with M&S0

Maybe insurance companies are starting to realise that they should try and make a profit from motor insurance rather than underwriting for volume share.0

The quote I got from my provider (CSIS/Zurich) was 35% more.
I'm not expecting to move house or change the car, so fees weren't going to be an issue...I am a mortgage broker. I get even less choice. Tescos first at £600, Admiral in various forms 2nd at £800, Mercedes 3rd at £1,100 (inc inexperienced wife as ND), cant remember who was 4th but the premiums were over £2k where as Chubb only wanted £1,500 for their Masterpiece policy.0
