Me too. ESA Support Group & DLA (HRM & MRC).

£25 - that's a bit steep! Most of the girls in my town only charge £15. It's £25 for the full works so to speak.

I would no doubt agree with you - I suppose it can make a big difference to how you feel.

If you manage to find out if you can get it for free on the NHS, please post on here with the details. Due to vascular problems I have to take Levitra which has some very difficult side effects to try to cope with.

And before anybody complains about my post - it was done with a tongue in cheek attitude and shows no disrespect to the OP

Can I just ask what does hrm, mrc, and op mean. And just for the record why would anyone complain about your post? I literally cannot understand why anyone would at all.

If there's a training college/hospital near you that trains physios or teaches massage I'd assume they need "bodies to practice on" and for assessments. It might be a way to get the extra sessions or at least some of them for free or at a vastly reduced rate.

Then you haven't come across the 'idiots' on this site that will stop at nothing in trying to cause upset to a poster. You will eventually find them when they spot what I have posted. One will start it and the rest will join in like a pack of wild animals.

They normally follow me around this site watching what I post then attacking it.

And in those past 10 days I have had the 'idiots' follow my posts around this site making stupid and unrelated comments. Why I don't know. You only have to look at the one and only thread I started - every reply was made to annoy me and in those replies no one actually addressed the question I posed.

If a new member has to put up with that attitude in only 10 days - no wonder many give up posting and move on to another site.

Joseph, have you tried your local college? I go every week or fortnight, depending on finances and how bad I am. Costs around £6 for a back massage, deep tissue. But they also do things like the mechanical massage, reflexology and hot stones massage.

I personally just go for the deep tissue massage as that's the one I get most relief from. The worse one I had was still lovely, was just a bit soft, so didn't get as much relief from it. But I give them feedback each week as to what I think of their techniques etc too.

    Worth a try :)

The implication was that if you were paying as much as £25, then you should be expecting additional 'services' rather than a straightforward massage. Some would be offended that a poster of MSE was so intimately acquainted with the prices charged for such services in his area.

Even so, I think that is way off the mark: when we moved to this city over ten years ago, DH was trying to find a sauna (of the traditional Finnish kind), because he finds that using one regularly is very beneficial for his eczema. If you look up sauna in the phone book for this city, many of the entries are for establishments which do offer additional 'services' as standard, and he was being quoted £50. When he said "that's a bit steep" he was told it included a full personal massage. On another call he was immediately asked what kind of girl he would like, and given a run-down of those available. Again, the charge was £50 or more.

I agree that phoning around your local colleges of FE and seeing which ones offer therapeutic courses is likely to be the most cost effective way of getting a good massage. They do indeed need bodies to practice on!

BTW he did at the time find a sauna NOT offering additional services, so he is unable to comment on current prices.
