Good evening all just after some advice please. My son was recently told that he may qualify for a dro he really wanted to pay his debts but lost his job and has since been imprisoned.(no judgements please that's already been done) He obviously has no income and no way of paying his debts for the foreseeable future. can he still do a dro from prison.

Providing he meets the other requirements (assets and debt level) he can do the DRO from prison, but may need someone not in prison, like yourself, to be a named 3rd party with a debt advisor to deal with things on his behalf.

thankyou very much!! I managed to contact stepchange today and this is exactly what they told me. I have written to him today and will wait for his authorisation letter to come back, I can start the ball rolling then . Its not my debt but the relief is tremendous not so worried now
