Dating agency mis sold?

I joined a dating agency about 10 weeks ago. The owner assured me she had lots of suitable men to pair me up with. I have had about 7 profiles, none of which met the requirements I had asked for ie non smokers, height, etc. I appreciate that she can only match with the people she has but did she mislead when enticing me to join? It wasn't cheap and my other major gripe is that I ask her to phone me either by leaving a message on her answerphone or email and she never does phone me back. Have I got any redress with this or do I just say goodbye to my money. The people I have spoken to are also disenchanted with her to say the least but no one as yet seems to have taken her to task.

If you were told (in writing????) that they had lots of suitable men, and in 10 weeks they have yet to send you the profile of anyone who even meets the basics, then yes, you have a very good case for a refund!
I would be sending a "letter before action" giving 14 days to issue a full refund, otherwise you will have no alternative but to take the issue to court.
I'm quite sure they'd lose in court, as you have the 7 inappropriate profiles as evidence!
Don't forget to send the LBA with proof of postage.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Is the agency based in the UK and if so, do you have a mailing address for them?0

Horses for courses innit. One person's view of what's suitable doesn't always match with someone's else's. It's too subjective. Basically I doubt there's a consumer law that covers 'tried to get laid, didn't work'. Don't give this agency any more money and join a well-known one like match.com."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

The agency is based in the Midlands.0

This is an agency as opposed to a dating site and they actually come out and interview you! After spending an hour with a person, they should get a very good idea of the type of person you would like to meet. I have just checked and the address is a PO box!0

Problem with agencies like this is most people use Internet dating these days so her actual pool of clients will be very small. It was popular in the 80's/90's but these days it's a very niche market.0

"Do you smoke?" and "how tall are you? " are hardly subjective!!!!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
