I currently have our two family cars (mini cooper D and qashqai +2) on my work salary sacrifice car scheme which works out at £330 and £340 respectively after tax per month including tax, insurance, all maintenance, tyres etc... bascially if anything happens I call a number and they fix it. They are also high spec brand new cars and I renew for a different car every 3-4 years.

They are both up for renewal soon and my husband is convinced that if we go directly to a garage or leasing company, we could buy or lease at a lower price for similar cars. I'm not tied to those makes/models - one of the cars does under 5,000 miles a year so our other option is to buy a cheaper 2nd hand car...

Currently over the 3-4 year period, we pay 11-15k per car! Yikes that just shocked me.

A lot of the leasing / purchasing deals don't look that great - pay thousands in deposit then £169 per month but you don't own the car, you need to pay £7,000 at the end of 48 months to buy it and the APR is 12% or something... Has anyone come across any particualrly good purchase or leasing deals lately - like I said, I'm open to considering different makes/models. Just want to get a feel for what is out there, once you wade through all of the terms and conditions...and what the prices really work out at.

No issues with our credit rating by the way.

Any experiences/recent deals/suggestions appreciated!
