obviously one or two genuine users who keep in touch with it or whatever, but it amazes me the amount of problems it causes in the workplace! The amount of "issues" I've had to sort between grown men and women is unreal!

I think that says more about your colleagues as individuals than facebook itself. Many responsible adults who apply common sense to using that form of social media, cause no problems for themselves at all.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

You can turn the "followers" setting off on your own profile
    (marywooyeah and Judi)

I have followers activated on one profile so that people will still see my postings without having to be my friend, useful as I do have a lot of friends

Not a Facebook person myself, but the idea of having a follower would freak me out a bit, too! I've heard of people following celebs on Twitter, is it a similar thing?

Prolly get flamed for this but facetube is largely for attention wh0res and douches who have gaps in their lives....obviously one or two genuine users who keep in touch with it or whatever, but it amazes me the amount of problems it causes in the workplace! There are altogether too many numpties and twits around for my liking but fortunately I don't know any of them personally. Or at least, I don't think I do.

My profile is set to "private", I never accept friend requests from people I don't know and I never EVER have Faceache friends whose only connection with me is through work. It's a couple of members of my family who are in serious danger of being de-friended if they don't buck up.
