Anyone put their extra freezer upstairs?

Hi all,

Am in a food saving mood lately, and realise that I need a bigger freezer.

Currently have half and half, but it's not big enough for my cooking and freezing frenzies!

Kitchen is too small to put another one in. No way. So was thinking of putting one in the box room, sorry rubbish gathering room, where everything gets dumped.

Is this possible?, thinking, leaks, etc, and so on.

Anyone?

I dont see why not. My kitchen is upstairs but none of my freezers have ever leaked anyway.

Your description of the ***** room is just like mine!

I was just concerned if there was a power cut or something, or a leak.

But then again, had a power cut and downstairs freezer was fine.

Leaks....now that's my worry really. Straight down into the hall, if you can visualise the set up, upstairs.

I think I'll go for it.

I had one in an upstairs flat so don't see any difference really.

I am trying to reduce my freezer space as I think my shopping expands to fill it. I used to manage with a small freezer, now I seem to need a chest one and a small one even though I'm cooking for less people.... how does that happen?

I think I'd like a small fridge or freezer upstairs and as I have a kettle too if I had a microwave too I could avoid sometimes going downstairs but the extra cost of running it puts me off doing so.

Yep I've got a larder type freezer upstairs in the back bedroom, never had a problem. Only two of us now but I try and only shop once every two weeks so bread, meat etc is frozen and I can take advantage of the offers.

I live in a small bungalow, I have a small chest freezer in my bedroom and an upright in the kitchen, I have never had a problem with a freezer leaking.

  • We had a large spare chest freezer upstairs for many years, until we built the garage and then it went to live in there. No problems whatsoever, until it came time to transport it back down the stairs!!!! I'm sure it was twice as heavy as when we first carried it up!!!

I never thought about putting my chest freezer up in my spare/junk/office room. :(
At the moment it is in my kitchen, but if I moved it upstairs I would have more room for a table and chairs out there.
Thank you Melanzana for the idea. :T

Now I just have to find somewhere to put all the [STRIKE]cr*p[/STRIKE] 'stuff that might come in useful one day' that's currently up there. :rotfl:
