Guttering and Soffits replacement and problems with constant leaking

Hello

I used a local company to replace all my soffits and guttering at a cost of almost £1700 in June this year in all that lovely warm weather. Since the rainy weather, the poor standard of work has become all too apparent. The job has caused lots of niggling problems, with joints leaking over and over and 'guaranteed warp free' guttering, warping! The company have been out numerous times to try to sort with various amounts of 'gunk/sealant', but, as soon as it rains, we have leaks again. Had other companies out who say the materials are inferior, ie not a big make and the seals are very poor. The company have cited a variety of reasons/excuses, ie those workmen no longer work for us, the problem has been a dodgy batch of seals by the manufacturer etc, etc, and to be fair, they have sent lads out, but only to do further bodge jobs. There are a lot of disgruntled people locally placing negative reviews online and they are reporting they have spoken to Trading Standards but gotten nowhere. Today, another roofer looked at the job and highlighted other problems that he said will become worse as time goes on. In a fit of pique, I have sent an email to both of the owners asking them to repair/complete the remedial work or they will leave me with no choice but to refer to the Small Claims Court...I have even asked then for their supplier as I was going to purchase new pieces and have them replaced at my own cost by another firm, but the company they say produce the material state this is not the case and cannot source the same make, meaning I may have to replace the complete guttering at almost £800. What should I do next..they appear to be leaving a trail of very unhappy customers in their wake who have lost thousands, and I could well be in the lower levels of that grouping! Any advice gratefully received.
