savings in my sons name

  • the rule is simple you have to declare any savings you child(ren)have over £3000
    they will then take a view as to if that money is avaliable to you and what if any effect it has on any benefits,BUT IT MUST BE DECLARED

    So that means ex will have to give me details of whats in the account, I don't think he will be happy to do that (I can see his point in a way, its not any of my business). I also don't trust that after the first deposit that he will remember to tell me if he puts anymore in (again I can see his point of that, why should he, it doesn't effect him)

    I sign on tomorrow so will ask at the JC then but I am not expecting to get a answer, most times I have asked things they don't know but hopefully they should point me in the direction of someone who will know.
