Hi
I have started a job working mainly from home for a small community committee. There is an email address with the community name which I have taken on but it's been a nightmare.
It's through TalkTalk and I had to contact them to ask why I could only have 50 emails max at a time and their only help was to tell me to delete messages! I'm going round in circles with them and the email is so basic and 50 email limit makes it not fit for purpose.
So I wondered....if the community agreed to using another server company to host the email address could we take the existing one with us like you can with a phone number?
My apologies if this is a stoopid question - I am great at typing and doing spreadsheets but my tech knowledge is zero!!

If the domain is their own then they can move it where they wish. However if it is a Talktalk email address then they are stuck with having it hosted on Talktalk's system using their rules. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I do not use TT, so excuse me if this doesn't work............ can you set up a redirect on the TT site?0

how do you mean 50 emails at a time?
I'm with TalkTalk and receive more than 50 during the day. Or are you using webmail and it only displays 50 on the screen? if so, use an email client on your PC such as Outlook.0 -
If the address is somethingorother@talktalk.co.uk or similar then even if you do retain it it'll still be hosted by talktalk and subject to the same rules.
Perhaps you could set up a gmail address, as gmail can be configured to download all the emails from your old address as they arrive.0 -
I've got a fastmail address and I forward emails to it from a different address, and then send directly from fastmail but as if it came from the original address. It's not perfect, but it does work around the problem.0

Just get an email address from https://www.gmail.com. You will never look back it does everything!0

Your issue isn't talktalk, but how you are using and viewing your emails.
Instead of viewing them on a web browser, if you're only using one computer for the emails, then use software like Mozilla Thunderbird. It will download the emails off the talktalk server and let you keep them for as long as you want.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0
