                    Planning new kitchen
I don't have exact dimensions, but because of open plan and doors, there isn't a lot of wall space. Can I have your opinions on whether you think this is enough.
Back wall 4.8m with one or two windows (at planning stage). no high level units preferred.
Pantry off the kitchen - about 2 x 2 m roughly (maybe 2.2 x 1.8 etc).
Wall space beside pantry about 2 metres - American f/f and two floor to ceiling cabinets.
Double island in centre (ie 4 stools along one side, work top on other side to include sink and prepping area.
Separate utility 3m x 4m

From looking at drawings its hard to judge - seems small, but there is a big pantry that could store "a lot". Its just hard to determine how much is "a lot" in the context of the other space I have. The architect says I have 8+ metres of workspace and 7 is what is recommended, so he thinks its fine, but it would be useful to get others opinions of what they have and whether its enough.
I have been trying to picture what I would put in each cupboard.0

Unless you have a useless kitchen appliance fetish, you will have enough space. Pantry is for food, utility for washer and dryer. You're only left needing space for fridge freezer, dishwasher, then your cooking utensils, glasses, crockery and any of those appliances that hardly get used.
How many people could you prepared a meal for with 8m of worktop space? Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth. Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When you visit your friends, count their cupboards an draw an average. Then compare.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

mmmm...icecream maker, Panini maker, hand blender, food processor, chip pan, electric steamer, toaster, toastie maker, slow cooker...may have missed some. :rotfl:
All crammed into the back of cupboards where they are hardly used. Will be keeping space in the pantry for these so that they are easily accessible.0
