Hi
I want to look up a bus/train/tube schedule on the web on my (android 4.4) phone, then make a copy of it on the phone (probably in pdf) so I can view it offline later on.
Anyone know any (preferably free) apps that will do this?
All those that I've found need you to post the url into the app, but for those transport websites, they dont use a url that is specific to your itinerary, so when you copy-paste the url somewhere else, you end up with a whole load of useless.
I want something like CutePDFWriter, but for a phone. . .

if it's only for the train schedule, do you have access to a PC? sounds like it might be easier to download it on the PC and copy onto your phone.0

Hi
it's not a static timetime/route. I want to be able to do web-lookups on specific journeys between different start/endpoints/ times of day etc.
I could do each look up on the pc, print it to a pdf with CutePDF then plug the phone into the computer and drag the pdf over, but, God, what a hassle. Wasn't technology going to make life easier ?!0 -
Opera Classic (still the best android browser ever IMHO) easily lets you save webpages complete locally on your phone to look at offline later.

Google cloud print allows you to print to pdf on your google drive storage without needing to set up a printer.
So long as you're using a browser or app with a share option it should work for dynamic pages.

Good call, but the ops target was to read offline so a pdf in cloud is no good unless he then copies it to the phones local storage before going offline, could get a bit of a faff.0 -
Though thinking about the original purpose, wouldn't it be less aggro to save the journey in the national rail app? And that'll give you live updates too.0

how about this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trans_code.android.websnapshots&hl=en
is that what you are looking for?
or can't you just take a screenshot of the page?? easier and no additional programs required... ^_^Laters

Thanks for the suggestions.
Yeah, I looked at screenprints first. I'm new to android and couldn't find an intutitive way of doing it or any apps that did it. I've found the 'press the on button + the down-volume while standing on one leg' thing now.
'Web Snap shots' should be ok for bigger pages, but it's a little wobbly (e.g. it kills your search session at the Transport for London site and fails to print anything except the 'session expired' message
The 'save page' option in Opera mini seems like the best bet overall.

Is Android 4.4 out?0
