Cheapest kWh for Electricity in London
I'm currently with British Gas (Standard with Energy Smart Tarrif) and pay 13.611p per kWh on Tier 2*
October 2013-September 2013 = used 4017kWh in total
From October for a period of at least 6 months I will have an additional 1.5kWh consumption 24/7 on top of the usual one, which equals to additional 6574kWh.
So can you please advise what is the cheapest kWh price in London. So far I found M&S Fix & Save rate is 11.014p incl. VAT
Are you aware of anything cheaper for a high consumption scenario.
Thank you.
* - Tier 1 rates apply to the first 720 kWh per year of day consumption, pro rated across your billing period. All subsequent day consumption is charged at Tier 2.

Anyone?
I'm switching today and correct me if I'm wrong, but I still believe M&S is the cheapest option for an annual electricity consumption of at least 12000kWh.0 -
Probably...but why so much electric at peak day rates? Do you not have storage heating? Even a single 2kW convector heater used 8 hours a day on it's maximum setting for 6 months wouldn't even use that much more. You don't need space heating at night...use an electric blanket for more efficient heat.Anyone?

High consumption (around 1.5kWh) computer equipment, working 24/7.
I was even researching Economy 7, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it as the equipment is 24/7.0 -
What do you have? That's 50 of my computers with the screens turned off...even if you do need them 24/7 I doubt you are going to need the screens on 24/7...Are you sure they actually use 1500W? The power supply rating does not mean it will actually use the full amount. It's usually half or less. With that much heat you won't need any more heating and may even need additional ventilation to cool the room down.High consumption (around 1.5kWh) computer equipment, working 24/7.

E7 may be worth it as a lot of the usage can be moved to the overnight period. Backups for instance are best run at night and use a little more power.:footie:

Bitcoin ASIC miner = 24/7 constant use, so yes ~1.5kWh every hour and equally day and night0
