Switching account question

I would like to switch our joit account from the HSBC to A & L, but we are always overdrawn (up to £1,400) and can't meet the requirement of being in credit for 2 days in the previous month. What other options are out there in terms of bank accounts that offer cheap overdrafts without charging us £100 per month for going over-over drawn.? We could take out a loan but that just seems like another borrowing issue.
