    A few questions...

What make model was your old phone, what is your new phone?
Are the contacts still visible on your old phone?
Have you kept your sim or is it a new sim?
Do you/did you have email set up on your old phone - if yes then have you set up the same email address on your new phone?

I take it that you mean - "I have a new phone, all of my friends are on my old phone and I can't figure out how to transfer them to my new phone" ?
What model are the old and new phones ?

If, as I now think, you are just trying to get rid of your friends - please let me know ....

Not sure what you mean but I just transferred my old phone number to my new phone and all of my original contacts were lost, fortunately my service provider advised me that this would be the case so I made a hard copy of all my contacts. If you are in a similar position your contacts will be lost unless you have saved them elsewhere. You could also put your new sim into your old phone and bring up your original contacts as long as the new sim is the same size (which mine wasn't) and you still have the same service provider.

My phones have always given me the option of saving contacts TO the SIM card as well as to the contact library on the internal memory / memory card..
Plus - if you have the cable to do it - you can always back any phone contacts up to a PC !!

Not much help if like me the SIM card was a different size. I can now download and update my new Galaxy using my laptop but there's plenty of people who would never even think of doing this.
