I wouldn't buy a modern diesel with over 100k miles on. They are a total nightmare nowadays.
Last few cars I bought were:
1989 Volvo 740 Saloon. Owned by an old guy. Seats looked like they had never been sat on. Incredible service history, every oil change, every tyre change. Utter OCD about looking after it.
Mileage: 190,000 Cost: £100
Sold that for a good few quid more than I paid for it, and bought a 1998 Volvo 940 estate.
Service history up to 100k then self serviced. Recent cambelt, interior immaculate, all electrics working.
Mileage: 140,000. Cost: £800
Aside from consumables, never needed anything on either of them

Talking of trade plate drivers - I could have got my new car earlier last week if I had allowed it to be driven to the dealer from wherever it was stored in England.
I let the car wait on a transporter.
No skin off my nose, I always feel like a total !!!! when I'm driving "a different class" of vehicle which is too nice for people like me. I'm busy enough driving the most comfortable vehicles* on the planet most of the time.
(*Transit van.... try driving 300 miles none stop in anything else and arriving fresh as a daisy.)Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

I bought my car at 73000 miles with 1 previous owner and a full service history, first 3 years main dealer as part of the purchasing agreement. I plan to run it up to 100000 miles then do the same again._________________________________________
@ 08/13 total was £8,008.28-Pay off £1500 by end 2013 Challenge = £220/ £1500 14.67%

What happens at 100,000 miles? Does it explode?I bought my car at 73000 miles with 1 previous owner and a full service history, first 3 years main dealer as part of the purchasing agreement. I plan to run it up to 100000 miles then do the same again.
In effect what you're saying is: "I plan to sell it at the worst possible time". Sell it at 90k miles, or else keep it well past the magic 100,000 to get your value out of it.0
