funding for training???

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone can help. Im looking to go to college but the course I want to go on is £700. Im working part time and claiming JSA. Ive looked into loans etc to no avail. Ive been to see my personal adviser at the job center and he has refused point blank even though it would help me get more hours in the job im in.

Im stuck!!

Does anyone know of any grants low rate loans for people with bad cred that I could help me get this? I am all up for paying it back I just need a helping hand.

Ive applied for 100's of jobs to do just to get money to fund it to no avail.....

Thanks guys
Michael

NEBOSH courses are often referred to as "full cost " and are rarely eligible for discounts.
  • What about a career development loan or getting your existing employer to pay as part of your training and development.
  • NEBOSH will not attract college funding as it is (as mentioned before) a full cost or commercial course. It also will not be funded by JCP as it does not guarantee a job. It can be funded through ESF Skills Support for Unemployment which is available through many (not all) FE Colleges who also often deliver the course.

Ill have a look into the loan, he has asked his employer and they have just said they will look into it and left it at that! x

He begged the job center just to give him a loan but they refused! yet they want him to quit his job go on a call center course and MAYBE be given a job after the 2 week course. Where as if they loaned him the money for the course he could walk into a job in 11 days doing health and safety!

Check out the 24 plus loans if over 24 and the course is eligible (I am not familiar with the course).

Sadly the course is not eligible for 24+ loans as it is not a fundable (FE phrase!) course.
