SPonsoring/immunising a child

I am going to a friends Christening and we've all been told that as she's just been born she's inundated with presents already so really not feel pressured into a gift.
As the baby is due her first injections next week, I thought I might pay for a child in an underdeveloped country to have their inoculations in the baby's name.
Only trouble is I can't find anywhere.... I can find where to sponsor a child, but I don't want to pay out each month, it's more a one of amount and towards 'something'.
Does anyone know of where I can do this please?

What about a gift from the Christian aid website. They don't have immunisation but you can give a nutritional supplement or antibiotics for a child.
I think this a lovely idea of yours xx0 -
Rotary International have a campaign to end Polio running at the moment where you can make a donation for Polio vaccinations.

More info about Polio and what Rotary are doing on the Polio Eradication website.

This is a charity that someone I know is a director of: http://www.yocy.org/welcome
They've recently been struggling to feed the boys, and unlike a lot of the 'bigger' charities, there are no fat cat bosses taking a large cut of donations. All money goes directly to them, there's a list of one-off donations amounts on the help us page, listing what the amount will buy.
Here's also a link to their facebook page where you can find a post from late August detailing what food they urgently need and what your donation could buy to feed them: https://www.facebook.com/YambaOrganisationForChildrenAndYouthStarted 30/08/2011Biggest Wins: GHD's, 5* Trip to London, VIP Trip to Isle of MTV Festival in Malta.
Thanks so much to all who post
