I have a private message and I wish to reply by adding an attachmment either from my documents or my scans which will answer the question requested. How can I do this as I cannot find a tool on the forum to add an attachment

Most forums don't allow it, i am assuming mse don't either. I will try and send you one but if you get nothing in the next five minutes then you cant.

EDIT: nope you cannot send attachments.

I wouldn't recommend sending any such details to a stranger on the internet anyhow. Remember, anyone can post and offer advice on MSE-but it does not mean they are automatically qualified to give professional services. My own advice is not to respond to unsolicited offers of help received by private message.
I think this is the main reason MSE has deliberately disabled the addition of attachments.

That is because attachments in posts and PMs are not allowed on MSE forums. Sorry.
