'Fright Night' Fancy dress ideas

Creative ideas needed!

I'm going to a fancy dress party in a couple of weeks and the theme is 'Fright Night'.

Problem is that I'm not a fan of 'evil', zombie etc fancy dress and not a big fan of Halloween and all it celebrates. BUT, BUT... a) I love to dress up and b) it would hurt the person hosting the party if I don't come (particularly if I give what could be seen as a 'random' excuse)

So, I hoping the collective MSE creative minds can help me come up with an idea. At the moment, all I can think of is an angel / nun....

Would a Weeping Angel (Dr Who) be suitable?

or how about a Victorian nightie, lots of lace, ribbons and bows, and be a generic heroine in a horror movie?

Play on the 'fright' idea - wear terrible make up, mess up your hair, wear clashing colours, black out a tooth and look a 'fright' !
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Fright Night is a vampire film from the late 80's and recently remade. It was a vampire film.
  • Corpse bride? old wedding dress or something that looks weddingy (charity shop) and veil (bit of net curtain would do). You can age it by dipping it in weak tea. Get a bunch of dead flowers and make yourself up all white and grey.

    Rocky Horror Show?

The little girl (Megan?) from the Exorcist (I did this once, died my hair auburn, long white nightie with blood on, a big crucifix and photocopied a life-sized pic of her face and attached it to the back of my head.)

    Morticia from the Adams family.

    Cruella De Ville?

If horror films/halloween are things that you don't agree with and don't really like to be around, are you going to enjoy this party at all? You don't have to go if its just not your thing!
