Is it worth repairing or is it a case of looking for a new washing machine. Not a Zanussi as just under 3 years is no time at all.
You could try quoting the Sale of Goods Act - something like a washing machine should be expected to last longer than 3 years. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -

We recenty had our kitchen refiitted and it meant we had to disconnect and move the washing machine until the work was completely. When we moved the washing machine back 3 weeks ago the fuse in our plug blows about every 4th wash at the end of the wash cycle and before the rinse cycle starts. When we put in anew fuse it goes back to the beginning of the cycle and then runs through to the end!!!. Is it a coincidence that the problem happened after having to disconnect the item or is there a fault.
Check that you haven't trapped the drain pipe or water inlet pipe(s) anywhere. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
Pull the machine out and look?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

it my view it is important to identify the fault is a washing machine part and nothing elso before considering replacing it, unless it is an expensive machine and you want to go to considerable expense calling an engineer in who may or may not being able to fix it.From what is said the problem always arise between the wash and rinse cycle.
I would suggest the following in order of action.
1. Put an extension on the washing machine plug and plug it into an entirely different socket. That may prove it is not a wiring fault in the wall socket.
2. Check the water inlet pipe and drain pipe to ensure it is clear.
3 Try washingon a different programme
4. Put the washing machine on a Boil wash wihich may the clear any muck etc
4. If all that fails to solve the problem then it is almost certainly a part in the washing machine that needs replacing. It could be the motor then a replacement is necessary.
It just goes to show the life span of a washing machine can be under 3 years and in this day of a "Throw Away Society" repairs are often ridiculously expensive
I am no expert but I am trying to be logical to indentify if it is an electical. plumbing or a parts problem If someone is more knowleable and has other ideas perhaps they could post them0 -
This plee for suggestions is our last throw of the dice. We phoned Zanussi Service Centre asking for advise and they wanted nearly £100 call out plus the cost of replacingthe part. I explained what went wrong and all they replied the charge might be higher because the engineer would have to stay longer to watch the cycle. They wre completely unwilling to discuss the cause of the problem That was adding insult to injury especially as the machine is under 3 years old which at best medium usage. We would never buy Zanussi again. We have watched carefully and on a 57 minute cycle the fuse blows after about 30 minutes but it does not happen every wash. It is certainly before the rinse cycle starts that the fuse in the plug blows. Before we go and buy the new machine can somebody help by identifying which part is likely to be faulty. Thank you.0

From what is being is would seem the Zanussi washing machine blows a fuse somewhere late in the wash cycle and before the rinse cycle. It could possibily be the pump, or something clogging the plug, or the heater exchange. I have no idea how to ascertain which part of the machine is causing the problem, but if you can't do that then you are stuck. Hopefully there may be some washing machine engineers who read these forums would maybe be able to help in this respect. I am sure all suggestions will gratefully received. Otherwise I fear a new machine will be the order of the day. Zanussi Washing machine in my view are towards the bottom end of the market and I found out a little while ago are unreliable!!0

I would have thought that if the washing machine operates satisfactory for the majority of its wash cycle that the cause is unlikely to be the heating element. If that part was the problem in my view the plug would blow its fuse earlier. It is possible there is a loose wire in the machine or a leak that fuses the electrics. It would appear that if you put it on the spin cycle only it works perfectly. Alternatively in view of the symptoms, maybe it is something to do with the machines circuit board.Does anyone else share my view of the cause of the fault!!0
