SSE/Bankruptcy Advice

Hello,

I'm wondering if I may have a case and if anyone here can provide some advice. The basic story is 2 years ago I was made bankrupt. SSE then advised me I could pay the average amount that had been previously billed to me. I have an emailing saying that the elec "has been set at £45 per month and your gas at £25 per month" Of course I then used the heating a lot over the winter and at some point started missing payments. I then got charged using the meter for the period which obviously was quite expensive. Do I have any chance of paying only the agreed amounts? Or due to my stupidity, naievity and missing a payment am I going to have to bite the bullet? I don't recall being given warning about what would happen due to missed payment. I just suddenly got the large bill in a few month down the line. Actually I think I know the answer but you never know. Just so frustrating that I had to learn the hard way

None whatsoever if I read your post correctly.

The fact you were made bankrupt & they therefore couldn't recover any old debt meant they allowed you to pay your average consumption to cover future use.

They did not at any point say that if you used more than your previous average or missed any payments you could just forget about paying for that extra consumption or your missed payments.

If you want to pay less you either need to use less, or, if possible find a cheaper supplier

your lucky they didn't force a pre-pay on you, I wouldn't push it
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
