Vanquis card blocked unknown payment

Dear Colleagues,

Recently I was unable to login into my vanquis account. When I called them they told me that there was an attempt to make a payment on my card by someone. They gave me the last 4 digit on the card from which payment was attempted and also asked me to provide the front and back copy of the card along with bank statement. I really dont have any idea what are they talking about.

Did someone had the same experience?.

I don't know, but if you could email that info to my friend Honest Bob too, he'll take a look for you.

Seriously though, I'd tell them to naff off. At first guess, it sounds like you've gone to a phishing website (a phoney website designed to LOOK like Vanquis' site), had problems logging in having entered the correct log in details, and called the number it provides you (NOT Vanquis' real number), then been asked by the scammers for more info.

I'd call Vanquis URGENTLY on the number on the back of your card, tell them the card has been compromised by a phishing attack, get a new card and PIN, and ask them to change your online logon details too.

And preferably with a different phone. Some sneaky people these days jam the line keeping it open for a short time after you hang up.

Hi,

Basically I misplaced my card and didnt realise. When I tried to login I found my account was blocked. And I was advised as above by Vanquis. I will call them and explain again.
