Is my fridge/freezer salvagable?

Hiya,
I hae a BEKO upright fridge/freezer so nothing fancy but its served me well for several years. In the last 3 weeks or so it seems to be collecting water in the drain in the fridge compartment and I am having to clear it on a twice daily basis.
What I think is happening is the back wall of the fridge has a water/condensation on it that freezes then thaws, runs in to the channel to the drain and overflows. I tried cleaning it and drying it with paper towel thoroughly but within an hour there is fine frost on the back wall again and later its thawed and the cycle starts all over again.
Any thoughts before I replace it?

The water should drain out to the back of the fridge then evaporate.
Sounds to me as tho the small pipe from the internal tray to the back of the fridge might be blocked with 'gunge' for want of a better word.
Get a thin piece of flexible wire and run it through the pipe until the water runs free.
Should do the trick0 -
my BEKO one did this too!!!!!!! so i defrosted it and gave it a really good clean ( including the back and the drain). When it's ready to use again make sure you leave the recommended space around the appliance for ventilation.0

Look at the back wall of the fridge, there should be a channel towards the bottom. In the centre there should be a hole.
That hole leads to a tube that runs down to the top of the compressor and, somehow it's blocked. So what happens is that the evaporated water gathers, has nowhere to go, so overflows into the fridge.
If you use a flexible bit of wire and run it down there it should clear it.
Hope that helps.

We've got a beko too and it came with a little plastic pokey thing (technical term) for just this problem0

Thanks guys. It does indeed come with a plastic pokey thing!! lol :rotfl:
However that didn't do the trick. Decided it couldn't do any harm to poke something a bit longer down and sure enough it seems to have done the trick. There must have been some gunge blocking it that I couldn't see as it made a suctiony type noise and is now clear!! :T
Thanks so much as I had been looking to buy a new fridge as I thought it was broken. :jBoots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000
