Hi we are thinking of changing our old battered back doors for aluminium bi-folding doors and the sun streams in through this side of the house so we are tempted to get the doors with integral blinds, we have seen them in a couple of places.
It seems they are controlled by magnets, is this any good, how else could they be controlled if trapped inside the glass?
Do the magnets work all the time?
Do they work well, and last or are there any vulnerabilities?
I realise it could get expensive if one needed replacing but if I knew they were very reliable then obviously this would not worry me, anybody got any experience of them, ie got some or a friend who has had them a while?
Its just this stuff is expensive and I don't want to make any mistakes.
Any help/info appreciated

We have Venetian blinds for our double glazing.
They fit at the back of the pane, not inside the glass.
The blinds are set in a metal frame that springs onto 4 clips that just push into the seal of the window pane. They just simply unclip from the window for cleaning.
They are very neat and reliable and we have had them for nearly 10 years now with no trouble. If there was a problem, then the unit could either be repaired or replaced without having to disturb the double glazing unit.

Place I've been working in recently has blinds inside/between the panes of the glazing on a large trifold door. Looks very nice but didn't get the opportunity to suss how it worked.
