What gas and connector do I need can anyone help me please

Hi I have just bought a catering BBQ from someone on eBay but I am not sure whether I need propane or butane gas although I seem to remember the man saying that it could run on either. and after a bit of a google search it looks more like my pipe/tube has got a propane adapter rather than a butane one because a butane one looks a lot thinner on the end. Is there much difference between the two Gases. Also it looks like the adaptor thingy just screws right onto the cylinder, is that right or do I need to get some other kind of regulator thing to sit on the cylinder too.

The catering BBQ is a called a power grill and the adaptor I have comes up frequently if you search for propane adaptor
