Does anyone ever really "catch up"

I was reading comment on a thread the other day from someone who had been on holiday and had spent a few days catching up with the main board on their return. They said they were totally caught up now!
I find it takes me all my time to stay a couple of days ahead of closing and very rarely have time to do dailies, weeklies or postal.
I'm feeling rather inadequate now and thinking I must be really slow ?

?
Missing most of the above is how I stay reasonably " caught up".
Text & postals are not my thing & the daily thread is just too much for me.
Plenty on the main board for me :-)0 -
I do the daily's, daily mags & the normal comp board. I do keep up with them only because I have a lot of time in the day to do them.
I don't do the text or postal competitions because I can't afford to.

I comp as "newest posted" and do the dailies/daily mags and weeklies and I'm caught up. I do it all when my little one is napping, in bed, or when my husband is feeding him and we're watching something whilst he's doing it (husband can't just feed him whilst not doing anything!)2019 Wins

hi, maybe they just mean they've caught up with just the ones they want to enter
I do majority of dailes/postal & main board,
am subscribed to the weekly ones/any that need going back to/I want so get instant email if anyone adds to it or go to subscribed mail to enter each day/week,
don't think any of us realy 'catch up' as there's so many comps posted & when posting them as well it's hard to catch up but do think maj of us mean when we say we've 'caught up' it's just for the ones we want to enter,
might be wrong but that's how I read it & just my humble opinion xplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
I like to enter comps that are going to run out in 3 days time. Then as each day goes by I go over all the pages I have done and do the ones I have missed.
The only dailies I do is the magazine dailies, and normally I get bored half way through so give up lol
If ive had a week away I don't bother trying to catch up there's just too much!0 -
I think everyone has their own little comping system depending on how much time they have and how they prefer to enter. I had lots of time over summer so I literally worked from the last page to first and then had to 'catch up' if i went out or didn't comp to get back to page one on the main board. Now I have less time catching up means doing some dailies and getting a few days in advance
You're not slow, comping fits around everyone's life differently, just do what works for you :T good luck0 -
Everyone does things differently.
I don't comp by end date, I enter as they are posted, so if I've missed a couple of days (or weeks  due to holidays) I go through in reverse order back to where I'd last left it, if that makes sense. I certainly don't enter everything, only things I'm genuinely interested in, so that means a lot of my time is just spent clicking the red x!! After a 2 week break in August, it took me 3 days to get what I'd call "caught up" meaning I was back to having X'ed or ticked everything posted.
I try to make time to do dailies every day (magazines, a couple on FB and a couple of other random ones) if I don't get time to go on the main board.0 -
I had a long weekend in Ibiza a couple of weeks ago and on my return found I had 80 odd pages to catch up on.
Took me a couple of days to catch up but I skimmed the pages and didn't bother entering for DVDs and CDs which I would normally enter.
Normally take my laptop on holiday with me and enter when I'm away but didn't bother this time. Think I'd look a bit of a wally dancing around Pacha holding a laptop!
Don't bother with dailies or postal comps0 -
Yes, I agree - everyone is different - I don't have too much trouble keeping up with 'what I want to enter' as I am pretty selective in what I enter. For example, anything with Twitter, holiday, tickets in the heading gets red cross ed. I also never enter to win DVD's/books unless I really want to watch or read them so catching up for me means only catching up on the type of comps/prizes I wish to win:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

Same here, if I don't want it or don't like the look of the company running it or don't think the effort vs reward is worth it I don't enter - of the approx 1170 comps ending on 31/08 I entered less than 5% of them.
I go through them as they are added (just the titles or hover the mouse over to see the first bit of details if the prize looks ok but I don't open them), save in a "comps" favourites folder those I might want to enter but red x everything so I know what I have seen.
It doesn't take long just to "x and save" so I always stay on top of seeing them when they are added and a simple "sort by name" on the "comps" folder puts them in date order so I know which ones to tackle first if they build up a bit (40 is about the most I ever have outstanding). As I enter they get green ticked, thanked and deleted.
It works for me, I have received 3 prizes this month and have another 5 to come so as long as they arrive I will keep up my average of receiving 8 prizes a month so far this year.0
