Hi
first time user.
I have just moved to a one bed flat which has economy 10.
I am used to a key meter and am so scared of being all electric I had a key meter put in, I know its dearer but I am in charge of how much I spend.
Can anyone give me any advice regards economy 10, it doesn't seem like many company's do this tariff, at the mo I am with SSE.
I have new electric radiators and a hot water tank.
Any advice would be gratefully received as I said this is all new to me, also I am on ESA due to having osteo arthritis.
Thanks.

If you don't know the Economy 10 hours, contact SSE to see what they should be and what the different rates are. Then check your meter around those times with a load on it to see which register is moving. Once you know the times, try to make sure your heavy users of electricity are used within the cheaper periods as much as possible. If you haven't got storage heaters, that could be a bit difficult, as the cheap rate is predominantly during the night, when you don't particularly need the house heating.
As you say, not many companies do Economy 10, so it could be difficult to move.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Economy 10 with SSE times can vary by area I believe but for us it is 00:00 - 05:00; 13:00-16:00 and 20:00-22:00 so quite a good range there to run other appliances at the cheaper rate.0
