Problems with gas transfer

Hi, I am looking for a bit of advise as I'm totally exasperated with my gas transfer.

I asked flow energy to take over my gas on 11th April recieved an email on 2 May saying they that taken over service that day and to provide meter reading so all good. Then the problems started, out of the blue on 27th June I recieve a email bascially saying they hadn't taken over my service as they had previously said and would now begin the transfer process, I replied to this advising them to cancel my transfer as the fact it took them 2 months to realise they weren't supplying me didn't give me great confidence in their customer service abilities. I heard nothing after this until tomorrow when I recieve a "sorry you are leaving letter" from npower. So I phoned flow energy who told me they wouldn't cancel the transfer as it was after the 7 day cooling off period and I asked whyit took so long for them to transfer my supply and why they ignored my email cancelling the transfer. I was told it was becuase npower kept objecting to the transfer so the system automatically kept resubmitting the application this being the 4th time they requested it

Please can someone confirm if it is a robotic process that resubmits the transfer request to transco or does the supplier do it manually? And why would you resubmit a request without contacting me to ask me to contact npower to lift the objection as surely they would keep rejecting it?
Is there a time limit in which they must complete a transfer set my ofgem before stopping the transfer?
Can they still say I can't cancel if I told them after they said they were begenning the transfer process AGAIN on 27th June to stop the transfer as surely each request includes the cooling off period?

Sorry it's so long winded but know someone on here will know the answers to these, I know you are a savvy bunch:j
