Directline - Terrible Service

Does anyone know if there is a Directline rep on the boards?
I’m having real problems with my car insurance claim. The car was picked up on 16thAugust. Despite me initially calling weekly to start with, and now daily for an update, nobody has been able to tell me what is going on – at the moment I don’t even know if my car is going to be repaired or written off.
Every time I call, I get told someone will call me back that day, but no one ever has. Today I spoke to someone in the call centre, who said an engineer would call me back as soon as I got off the phone to her and tell me what was happening. Almost 2 hours later I called back, and they couldn’t even find the engineers phone number.
I’ve called the repairing garage directly, who tell me that Directline are the ones holding things up.
I have asked twice now to make a formal complaint. Both times I’ve been told they will look into it, but no one has been in touch with me, and I’m not convinced they have even made a note of my request.
Sorry for having a bit of a rant, but getting really fed up with being given the run around.
