it's not rocket science that property should be affordable.
I just don't buy into this argument, property can NEVER be anything other than affordable.
Otherwise not one property would sell.
Property is ALWAYS affordable if it sells .......... whatever anyone may want prices to rise or fall, they will rise and fall according to the markets and, yes, to their affordability.
Just because person A cannot afford something doesn't mean it's unaffordable - because person B can afford it and buys it.Bringing Happiness where there is Gloom!0 -

do you remember mr edwards , the swimming coach there? the water may have been warm in the town baths but the changing rooms were always siberian , even in summer. they were closed in the80's ish as they had the slade river running underneath them and i believe it cause a bit of subsidence,0 -

No. Never had coaches. Used to cycle there during school holidays, just to swim.
Nice place, Saffron, but perhaps not user friendly. Even better towards Finchingfield, Thaxted etc. but Stansted has ruined any hope of peace & quiet.0 -

certainly not cheap but young couple...?
i've got a young family living a couple of doors down from me , the guy told me tht he's got an interest only mortgage but can't afford to repay any captital , he's been there 5-6 yrs , probably paid around £180k for the property,0 -

we don't know the circumstances but that sounds affrordable by any reasonable standards0
