£400 less because of a scuff on a wheel?

  • £40 is the going rate to remove the tyre, repaint, and refit and balance the tyre. Clearly they think you are desperate.

The process of WBAC offering less is called chipping - chipping away at the original price offered often with no sound/ethical/moral reason. For instance a 5-10 year old car is going to have the odd scuff and stone chips. Similarly if you offered them a 5-10 year old car that was absolutely immaculate would they offer any more........

Google webuyanycar scam to see stories of their misleading pricing.

I'm loving this board at the minute. This thread starts with WBAC rip offs and meanders off talking about protecting trainers, and another one starts off about a rant on 2 for 1 tyre cons and then has a good debate about Domino's pizza pricing policies!

Yes, all these scratches, chips, scuffs is reflected in the price of a 5-10 year old car. They want to take more off from what is already adjusted for in market price.
  • How they can come up with that figure I don't know. As stated a new wheel from a dealer could be in the £100-£200 price range but a simple refub of the alloy would be less than half that. Certainly trying to on from the sounds of it.

It's the usual scam really, betting that once you get there you'll accept the lower price because of the distance you travelled. Surprised such a high profile company are playing this game though........

Why are you surprised? That's how most high profile companies become so big. They basically con people into believing they are getting something they aren't.
