Streaming Problems

Everytime I try and watch something streamed from a website the picture is just coming up purple with loads of horizontal lines.
The purple is also appearing on all other programs if I leave the browser with the streaming open!
For example typing this there is a purple box below in the same position as it is on my browser! :undecided
I've got the latest Windows Media Player installed!

If you ever get this again I would go into, tools, performance and lower the video acceleration and move the slider down0 -
