Are you the subject of this MMD Martin?
If so you are doing a better job than anyone else could do and enjoying it too.0 -
No! Unless you have some skills that would be invaluable to a charity, arguably donating your salary is worth more than your time.
Keep working (& take out a grievance complaint against your shoddy HR/payroll dept! )0 -

And ask that the if there is a fine it goes to the charities[STRIKE][/STRIKE]0 -
i personally think ' work to live ...not live to work' and 'you only live once'. If i was in the financial position not to need to work then i wouldnt. ......I would fill my day with other things including volunteering ... travelling etc.
you could spend your time volunteering at a charity that is crying out for help.....
thats only my opinion though ... xI am a full time Benefit and Money Adviser for a leading non profit charity and I LOVE my job

Carry on working, ignore what the co-workers think they are only jealous and want a promotion.0

So sorry about the invasion of privacy! This should have been your delight & private business, not HR's to broadcast.
Can you change jobs & keep on working happily?
Any colleague who comments deserve as close as you get to a slap...0 -
I think that if you enjoy your job and wish to continue doing it, you should - it is nobody else's business. There are other reasons to work besides money - for example, to gain skills, self-esteem, social reasons, to name but a few. You have as much right to work as anyone else, and what you do with your earnings is your own business. Fair play to ya!0

Let's get this straight. You give every penny of your salary to charity, whilst your co-workers keep theirs for themselves, yet YOU are the one who is selfish?
OK, that's twisting things a bit, they don't have as much money as you do - but I question how much that matters. How many people who are in a couple *genuinely* couldn't survive on one salary? I expect that most people could, but decide they have an extra person working so that they can have the lifestyle they want (be it a nicer car, holidays, bigger house, eating out, takeaways... whatever). One partner doesn't need to work, but chooses to in order to fund their lifestyle (& morally, I can't make a case for a lifestyle of having a nice holiday being better than giving charitable donations!!).
When my wife was out of work, we worked out how much we'd need to earn between us for me, my wife & my stepdaughter to live on. £18k after tax (including any benefit payments) to get by, £20k to live comfortably.
With that in mind, if any of the colleagues that criticise you come out with more than £1500 per month after tax, yet their partner works then they're hypocrites AT BEST.
Besides, what's to say that your donations don't allow these charities to employ somebody?
Easiest "dilemma" yet.0 -
If you are happy working, ten carry on doing so.
As someone else pointed out, it's clearly a case of the green eyed monster that you are in a fortunate enough position to be able to donate your entire salary to charity.

I'm intrigued on how the Payroll department managed to "accidentally" let it slip to the whole company. Did they print it in the memo section of everyone's payslips by mistake?0
