Tesco not picked up goods for return, can i keep them?

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" tablet from Tesco Direct. When it arrived the security seals were broken so I rang and asked for a replacement as it says on the seal "do not accept if broken". They supplied a second one which arrived with the same problem. After another call they sent a third one. This one was sealed ok but the courier wouldn't accept the return and i was told a different company would pick it up. It's been 20 days now and the parcel is still sitting here. My question is this, is there a length of time after which I can keep the tablet, (which works ok), since Tesco do not seem interested in collecting it?

Have you informed Tesco that they haven't collected it?0

You can keep it, but Tesco can take legal action against you for up to 6 years to get the costs back.
There's a fairly good guide here: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/wales/consumer_w/consumer_common_problems_with_products_e/consumer_lost_found_and_uncollected_goods_e/a_trader_has_left_goods_with_you.htm0 -
yes but they don't seem bothered about collecting it.0

Have you actually written to them to remind them that they haven't collected the good yet?If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Tesco direct probably don't want it back as they've realised it's massively inferior to an iPad

I had a similar problem with a Microwave that was faulty I bought on eBay. Several different attempts at collection failed. I emailed the seller every day for 3 weeks (using up to 3 emails for them I had supplied). When you say they don't seem interested in collecting it how much effort have you made to get this sorted?
Also in my case I offered to drop it off at a delivery depot, I wouldn't mind just to get rid of it. Tesco Directs are fairly common & almost all Tesco's even the Express ones now seem to do click & collect from Tesco Direct. Have you offered to take it anywhere?0 -
Send them an email saying you're going to start charging them £5 a day storage charges.
After enough days they will owe you what the item is worth...and you keep the item in lieu of payment.0
