How many people have been initially accepted for barclaycard?

Hi,
just a quick kind of poll. how many have been accepted for barclaycard then had the card before being told the account was closed/declined after further consideration? did anyone request a balance transfer at the time of application which was then refused?

Also, how many of you have been accepted with no probs?

been looking online and it seems there are a few instances where people have recieved a card and pin then rejected afterwards. Just trying to gauge if its a common or rare cockup.

I'm just getting fed up of coming into this section and seeing you ask the same questions 5-6 times.

Why don't you give them a call and see whats happening if you're that worried about it being revoked?

If you check on this website you will see it has happened on numerous occasions. However provided you have been completely honest and not telling any porkies then you should be fine.

Or may be you have a guilty conscience hence the reason for your concerns.

A very small proportion compared to the total number of people who are accepted.

Anecdotally it would appear bc have a slightly higher number of subsequent declines than other lenders but still a very small proportion overall. But of course its far more likely the few people this has happened to will post on here than the many tens of thousands who have no problems.

But whether it happens to 0.001% of accepted applicants or 1% of accepted applicants won't alter the decision they will make in your case. You either need to call them or wait and see.

Hi,

no guilty concience, i've been very honnest on my application. I was thrilled to be accepted with a good limit as it meant I could BT everything over and tidy up my affairs. I was then informed by other on here that some have got their card then it was revoked. I simply wanted to know if it was more the norm or if it was a rarer thing. I have called and they said my account is open with a card on the way, but i'm still anxious as others have reported the same, then had it closed days after. This is important to me and will really help me save a bit of money so thats why I asked, as Ive tried to look through old threads but can't get a clear picture if this happens a lot or not.
I really never intended to offend anyone, but I might kindly suggest that if its of no interest or bothers anyone me asking, just please ignore the thread. I was always told if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.

I think you mentioned on another thread a £250 bt was going through. Have you checked with the company it is going to whether it has now been received. I know when I do BT's with BC it only takes a day or two to be received.

If that is the case I would think all was ok. Also do not keep phoning BC about the same issue otherwise they may suspect something is wrong.

I only rang the once to check it was setup and that the BT was authorised. Just playing the waiting game now. xx

I think you said in a different thread that you've called them and the lady said you've been accepted for sure, no more checks need doing, all is well, bt is going through and you should have your card by Friday. Well, i'd leave it until the post has come Monday until ringing them again anyway. Plus, if by some unlucky reason you join the few that have had their cards cancelled after receiving them, there's nothing you can do really. It's out of your hands so stop worrying about it. If it happens, it happens, they'll let you know.
