I love my dog ozzy to bits, i dont have children so he is my little baby
and and xmas DH makes fun of me for spoiling him. i make him a stocking of lots of little treats and also get him bigger presents like a new bed or a more expensive toy, and this year im making him homemade dog biscuits:rotfl:
i think last year i spent £50+ on him:o , so is anyone else out there as nuts about there pooch as or any other animal as i am?
also i should add i wrap all his presents up as he has the best time opening them and then destroying the wrapping after!!

Aw that sounds cute! I do buy little extra treats for our Shih-Tzu and my parents Springer. The others think it's daft but it gives then something to play with/throw around/generally mess with whilst all of us are unwrapping presents and playing/talking!
Generally its just a few treats and maybe a new lead/bowl or something. Parents dog gets her usual 'travel pack' as she goes away a lot with dad early in the year so I'll get her something to go with (she goes through towels and blankets like there's no tomorrow so I usually make her something) plus a bone and some treats/chews.
Our Shih-Tzu usually gets a mix of treats and maybe a new little toy or something************************************

Hi, yes, I do.
he's my 4legged son so he always gets something small. Already got him a Xmas card from monsoon in the sale and will make him some biscuits too. He's not into toys so there's not a lot else I can get him. I'd love to buy him some clothes but don't think DH would be too impressed, lol.

Yep - all three of ours get Christmas presents and they are wrapped up as well. Fly sits there ever so gently peeling off little strips of wrapping paper until he gets to his new toy :A Domino just gets stuck in and rips everything up and it will be Lil' Jo's first one this year but based on current experience he will probably spend an hour or two whirling it around his head and doing as much damage as possible :rotfl:Light travels faster than sound - that's why you can see someone who looks bright until they open their mouth.0

We used to when the children were small but it was more for their benefit than the dogs, as they were not really interested.
I can understand you doing this for yours, especially as he is like a 'child' for you.0 -
Totally! I waited 30 years for my first dog, got her in March. When I was buying all the things I needed for her when I got her, the website had all their Christmas stuff in the sale, so I got her a Santa soft toy, a squeaky cracker and some treats (long date on them). So technically she is done, I need to buy her a stocking to put it all in! She loves paper and tries to shred the newspaper if you are reading it, so she's going to love the wrapping paper!
I know that the rest of the family will probably buy her presents too!0 -
My mum's dogs are so cheeky, they never touch any other presents under the tree but every year rip their own open, they must smell the treats!!0

We have two border collies and every year we wrap up their presents and put them under the tree. Every day when we come downstairs they look at them and we say 'no, Santa's not been yet' and they leave them alone but on Christmas morning when we tell them Santa has been they go absolutely mad! Lucy will lay on all of her gifts so the other can't get them and Chip flings his around knocking over everything that is glued or nailed down! :rotfl:
I love spoiling the dogs and my DD's love spoiling them too, I think my DH thinks we have lost the plot though!0
