Rendacoat - free wall coating?

Good morning,

A man knocked on the door yesterday and talked to my husband (I was busy cooking or else I would have tried to figure out more first hand). They said that there is currently a government programme offering free exterior wall coating to everyone (in the same line as the free loft insulation programme) and that they were one of the companies offering this.

I know nothing about wall coatings (is it worth it?) and I can't find any governmental programme for this, so is it all a scam?

If anyone has any information, I would be very very happy to hear more about this before we get their 'free inspector' coming over to see if the walls are suitable.

Sounds too good to be true. We wanted to get external wall insulation, but it costs thousands!

How is your property heated if you have either electric or coal you can have it done free threw Eco or 50% off for gas central heating, All depends who is doing the install with regard to cost, I done my own house and now most of my neighbors are all signed up to have it done, There are many company's out there that do not even have access to funding but are still doing the epc in the hope funding will come threw heard to many story's about that

If you type eco funding into google and go down to the gov site energy company obligation there is info there sorry can not post link for you, Bear in mind that is for external wall insulation not for render only I have not heard of any funding for render only otherwise I would be doing it myself

My understanding is that the property has to be in what a local authority classes as a "deprived" area in order for the property to qualify for free energy saving measures ??

I have had a look at Nuneaton & Bedworth in an attempt to discover how "deprived" Bucklington is, but for the moment I have given up.

This whole situation is a complete farce and designed by government as a happy hunting ground for failed second had car salesmen and incompetent double glazing salesmen.

I have been doing installs in wealthy area's so how they can say that god only knows
