Nationwide Flexdirect applications

I had one in sole name a few months ago so I applied for another a few days ago. New Flexdirect showed in internet banking the next day.
I read on here that you could have 4 flexdirects so I applied for two more. Nothing sinister in the application. Got successful messages. The accounts are still not showing though.
I have two joint flexaccounts. Could they be causing a problem? As in count towards the maximum 4 accounts?

Yes they could. Four is the maximum total of Nationwide current accounts. You could change one of your flexaccounts to a flexdirect.0

Thanks.
That's annoying as they are joint accounts. I wanted two extra sole name accounts.0 -
When you completed the application did the message state that you had successfully opened an account and give your sort code and account number? If so sometimes it will take up to five days to appear in internet banking. I know this because a family member opened one on the 7th September 2013 as was given account details but it only appeared in internet banking today. If you get the message they need to make further checks and will get in touch with you when they have made their decision, these seem to go down a black hole and never to appear."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

No no account numbers, not even for the successful one.0

A friend who got the message we will make further checks and get back in touch with you has now received an update from them. Today received a letter congratulating them and giving a sort code and account number but before they could proceed with the application they needed their signature on a form and when they receive it back will send out debit cards etc. They have been with Nationwide for years so don't understand why they are asking for a signature now."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

This has been my experience. Application for 1st account went through ok. Application for subsequent accounts disappeared into the ether despite the 'we need to make further checks and will get back to you' message. Sorted out via mixture of secure message and phone calls.
Despite being a longstanding customer and submitting proof of signature again with a/c 1, they still wanted signatures for 2, 3 & 4 :cool:0 -
Nationwide now they have received their signature have now opened their fourth flexdirect account and it is showing online."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
