Anyone had this happen with outlook express ?

I am really puzzled at what keeps on happening.I have outlook on my xp computer, had my email address and emails through it for many years, keeping it even when getting a new computer.

For the last few days whenever i open it to read my emails it is fine for the first one or two,but if i go out of it or reply to one as i just have, when i go back the emails are still in the folders but the main body is completely blank.Whether new or old there is just nothing there. The only way i can get them back is to restart the computer. After that they seem ok

Can anyone explain this or advise what to do to stop it please?

    Possibly http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246396

    Or possibly a shortcuts problem?
Find the main executable :->My computer , C drive , Program Files, Outlook Express , scroll down to file: msimn.exe
Double click on it and outlook will open up. If this works make a PROPER shortcut to it Right click on msimn.exe
scroll to Send to : Desktop (create Shortcut) double click.
Go to desktop . try the shortcut and re-name it Outlook Express. Delete old shortcuts.

Thank you very much for that easy to follow set of instructions.Just done it,though i won't know until i use the computer next.

I do usually use a shortcut via my keyboard rather than the desktop.Maybe that is what was causing it?

Not at all.At least you have offered a solution. And so far so good.

Now i have another question for you! My husband uses yahoo for his emails.Since signing up to carry out surveys(which he later decided not to do anyway) he has been deluged with spam.Drives you potty.I found a way of stopping them getting through but it seems as if they just use a different email address each time.I am now up to over 200 blocked addresses but they don't seem to be slowing down much.Is there any other way to prevent them that you know of?

It is better to set the filters on their site rather than your PC. Who is your ISP?

Is there anything in common between the emails?

It may be worth starting a new thread.
