I am moving into a new flat with a EDF Economy 9 meter fitted. I want to price compare but am having difficulty as it is such a strange meter.
Anyone had dealings with this, or got any recommendations?
Thanks

If you own the property, pay to get it changed to a more conventional meter.
If you're renting.....don't move in at all. Back in the day when I was a tenant, I wouldn't consider a property with odd heating setups (economy 9/10) or PPM's.
My knowledge of economy 9 is sketchy, but I'd imagine you're stuck with edf and whatever tariff they have. Certainly the two energy companies I've worked for didn't support economy 9 at the time :eek:0 -
Never heard of Economy 9.
Economy 7 and Economy 10 yes, but not Economy 9.0 -

There's nothing to compare to with that set up.
Do not attempt to switch supplier with the current set-up, as it invariably ends in tears.0 -
E7 & E10 is published as expected, even their own tariff the E9 is not published. Existing Economy 9, White Meter,Off-Peak or Heating Tariff customer should ring EDF on 0800 096 9696.
I would need a long barge pole to consider using E10, I would need counselling from a mental health worker before agreeing to E9. My clear recommendation get an E7 tariff or don't live there, not telling the group what type of heating it is does not help yu get good information.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem.
