12mth guarantee on repaired item

Hi could anyone advise please, I bought a new Dewalt drill which became faulty under the 12 mth guarantee and had the broken part replaced, the guarantee has now run out by about 3 months and the same part which they replaced has broken again.
My question is does the part that they replaced come with a 12 month guarantee on that part from the time they fitted.
many thanks Mark

What do the terms and conditions say? You have no statutory right to a guarantee so they can set their terms. I suspect the guarantee did not reset when they fixed it.
You do have statutory protection under the Sale of Goods Act though. If the fault is inherent and the item has not lasted a reasonable time then you can claim against the retailer. However since it is more than 6 months since you bought the item the retailer may ask you to prove the fault is inherent.0
