I was looking at a Nissan Terrano for sale, at a local car sales.
I went to check the cost of taxing it, on the DVLA website, but nothing came back.
Then, in a spark of genius (I have them, but not very often
), I entered the Reg number, but chose Ford instead of Nissan, and hey presto, it came back as a 2,500cc, diesel, which fits with it being a Ford Maverick, which is a Nissan Terrano, with a different badge.
However, the vehicle at the car sales is definitely marked as a Nissan Terrano.
It's also silver, but the DVLA website says it's white
Also, the DVLA website gives its date of first registration as 2006, but the registration number is an 04 one.

I'd run for the hills!!!0 -
So they sold that one and bought a 2006 Ford one and swapped their private reg over.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Perhaps, but why is DVLA showing it as a Ford, when the Reg Number is on a Nissan
If they've swapped the Reg over to a Ford, it shouldn't still be on this one.0 -
It all depends when the swap took place.
DVLA is running a backlog of stuff to be updated.
I received my revised V5C last week but the DVLA still don't show my correct number.
Other sites that use numberplate identification such as Black Circles tyres or Eurocarparts could take weeks to catch up with a revised data base.0 -
Well, the tax is due 1st December, so the latest it could've been taxed is June.
That means about 2.5 months, to update their records.0 -

That's not necessarily correct.
When you swap numbers like this you get a new V5C and a replacement tax disc which expires the same month as the original one.0 -
You do know if it is the Maverick shaped one they are dangerously slow off the mark, almost impossible to overtake anything and average around 20-24 MPG, 30mpg on a run with the wind behind you and the windows up.Be happy...;)0

Not true spacey2012.
I had a Maverick, a few years ago.
While it wasn't fantastically fast off the mark, it was OK, it overtook quite well and, on a steady motorway run, did about 45mpg.0 -
Check the tax disc closely.
Where the Post Office would put a rubber stamp the DVLA type in the words CT REPL (Current Tax Replacement)
You'll also get the date of issue by the DVLA.0
