Waiting for a replacement part - how long?

Hi, I am hoping someone can tell me what a reasonable time would be to wait for a replacement part for a vacuum cleaner which is less than twelve months old?
I am having to keep cello taping my small hose on my Morphy Richards vacuum and have now waited 42 days, and they are saying I should receive it within ten working days. The vacuum is not fully functioning with my cello tape job and I feel this is too long to wait, does anyone have an idea how long is 'officially' acceptable?

Section 48B of the Sale of Goods Act says (amongst other things):
So there you have it... is your sellotape job causing you significant inconvenience?Repair or replacement of the goods
(2)If the buyer requires the seller to repair or replace the goods, the seller must—
(a)repair or, as the case may be, replace the goods within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience to the buyer;
I would say 42 days is not a reasonable time.0 -
My cello tape job is causing me inconvenience in that the suction is vastly reduced and I have to replace it before each use due to the small hose being split at the top and bottom, thank you for the link, I am going to email it to them. I have already requested the chairpersons contact details twice and still don't have them, and they are saying it could take up to ten working days ( up to two weeks in real time) for the hose to arrive. I am not a happy bunny

Trying a different brand of vacuum next time might be even better than that! Such a big company with such disregard for its customers, the very customers who keep them in business
