aviva solus - conflict of interests?
i phoned aviva to report damage and they said their approved repairer was a company called solus
after someone from solus called suggesting i have cracked and deformed bumper repaired rather than replaced i started investigating them
ive subsequently discovered aviva own solus. should they have told me that they own solus rather than just saying they were an approved repairer?

ps the damage was a small crack and the impression of a bolt sticking about 5 mm out.
would this normally be repaired or would bumper be replaced0 -

Hi tir21
When you're in the process of making a claim, you can either use an Aviva approved repairer, or if you chose to use a non approved repairer you can, this will carry an additional excess.
This link details more and you can search your area for approved repairers:
https://www.aviva.co.uk/approved-repairer/
I hope this helps. Don't hesitate to email me at social@aviva.co.uk if you have further queries. Please include your full name, date of birth, postcode, vehicle registration number and MSE username in your email.
Many thanks,

when you say aviva approved repairer, shouldnt i have been made aware that aviva own solus?
my concern is that the word approved suggests they have been selected solely on the basis of the quality of their work
its hard to imagine it can all be a matter of quality if you own solus0 -
can you see that solus' advice that i have the bumper repaired rather than replaced is difficult to see as impartial0

any one think there is a conflict if interests?0

I'd want a cracked and deformed bumper replaced not repaired personally.0
