Letting Agent - "Whats your problem"
Comments
-
I do not understand this, is there anywhere I can go who can set the record straight - I am having a problem with letting a property through a letting agent.
After explainingto the letting agent I've not even beat around the bush, I have failed a credit reference, despite explaining to the Letting Agent in question that I had a DRO
I have been told I’m not effected as I thought? Now thememorandium period of the DRO has ended?
The DRO has finished
Surely this doesn’t just whitewash allmy file,
Is my credit file now clear?
I was always under the impression I had a lot of negative data repayday loans (2009 – 2011)
I have used payday loan services from 2009-2011
and this is one of the things that ultimately helped lead toward myrelief order
Due to the use of the Payday loans, I believe this has had a negative affect on my credit file
– one of the facts was strong that my file was already considered wreakedas it were, in that I wouldn’t have any other options to deal with my debt
My credit record was already poor, I used the payday loans as the only option to deal with my debt
Worst case –they say I can have a guarantor who would need a credit check,
They have said I could use a guarantor if I fail the credit referencing
ok, can thisstill happen if my potential guarantor is also guarantor to another relative?
Will it be okay to use a guarantor who is already guaranteeing another relative
They seemedto be getting very frustrated with me, think I should have kept my mouthshut, that's how I feel
They are frustrated with me as I do not understand
Edit theyseem to want to credit check us both now – does this sound right?
They would like to run credit checks on both the guarantor and I
Please accept my apologies if this is wrong board0 -

Ok I'm not really sure what you are asking I'm guessing your trying to rent a property you were honest with the letting agent and explained about your DRO.
They appear not see this as bad as you do and after they carry out the credit check may even be happy to let the property without a guarantor. Letting Agents don't see everything on your credit file I'm not honestly sure what they do see but it's not like applying for a loan.
If they need to they will ask for a guarantor who will have to be credit checked.
I at one point had quite a lot of debt with a bad credit record but have never had a problem renting a home. Was only asked once for a guarantor but they gave me the option of paying a lager deposit which I did.
I've had those with current BR on the file go through with no problems, yet with a 5 year old default for about £20 came back as a fail.
I asked for 3 months bank statements, and let the property on that basis. The tenant is with us 6 years later, having never missed a payment, and the tenant that was BR has approached us about buying the property, having spent 8 years living there, again with no rent issues. Their mortgage is in the process of going through now (I accepted, as I'm trying to free up cash in assets at the moment with mid-long term plans to return to my native country)

My mistake! I would have thought the South of the US wouldn't get much snow as its nearer the equator than the North, like New York etc.
Having said that I've never been to the US!0 -
