Their online banking does have a slightly old fashioned look and feel about it but I find it works without any problems. That's all I ask from online banking - it's a utility after all, not something I spend hours browsing for entertainment.

Also their customer service is the best of any bank or building society I've ever used. The staff must be treated well as they are always friendly and efficient and the don't seem to have a high staff turnover. Plus they have a UK call centre, which makes life a lot easier.

Yes, I agree 100%. Just one small niggle can't be bad.

I have a Student Co-Op account and I agree that their internet banking could do with a lot of improvement. I've had to reset my account five times only for it to lock me out again for no reason, every time I phone them they say that it's been fixed, but I still have the same problem. It's become very irritating because I like the convenience of online banking so I'm starting to give up on them.

Oh, and they also didn't give me my agreed overdraft for six months even though I met their conditions, but that's another story :P.

  • Totally agree about every other aspect of their customer service. They have been brilliant. I've just found their internet to be somewhat lacking. Even if they tweaked it so it said "you have xxxx in your account of which xxxx is available and not about to go out" that would do for me. You can ring them up and they can tell you so it's not as if they don't already have the information.

    First world problems eh!
  • Don't hold your breath Mr Z, I've been with them since 2008, it's never worked in all that time

Hmm same here but since 2006....they mentioned a little while ago changed were being made to their mobile app as well..both of which i'll not be holding breath anytime soon :p

I think their online customer support has slipped over the last few years, the response time is pretty poor these days, at one time you could send secure message and get a reply same day, if send one at bedtime and have a reply for breakfast. Over the last year it's been about a week, give or take. Phoneline help has always been quick and efficient though. Keep toying with moving but still like their ethics/ethos so have stuck it out with them

Honestly cant say I have ever noticed?! My balance always seems to be true and ive never had problems with my account. I use the app and have txt limits set up which works well. Only thing I wish they would do which I saw 1 bank can do is name the savings accounts. I.e. holiday fund.
