Marbles not accepting any new applications.

I have just gone on the marbles webpage and saw they will no longer be accepting any new applications for the marbles credit card.
What does that mean?
I am a marbles credit card holder and wonder if I need to look to apply for another credit card to replace my marbles one.
Won't they be renewing the card when it will be reaching the expiry date?
Will they be replacing the marbles card with another one?
Will they scrap it and you'll have to reapply for another one?

TBH, I wouldn't worry. The last thing they'll do is suddenly ask you for all the borrowing back. It would be far more beneficial for them to sell the debt on to another card - probably another card sponsored by the same group of companies.

Additionally, if you're smart, you'll close it down and look for a better one anyway. 19.9% on standard borrowing is exceptionally high.

I should know, i've just discovered we have 5 figures on ours and I'm desperately looking to shift it elsewhere

Well, I was quite happy with this card as I only got a 1000

Well, I was quite happy with this card as I only got a £1000 credit limit with an APR of 12.90% on purchases.
When I got the card, the APR was at 7.9%.
I'm using credit cards mainly to buy online, and sometimes I pay the balance in 2 or 3 months, so a low APR is preferable for me.
As I can see, there aren't many cards (if at all) that match the APR I've got or have a lower APR.
That's why I would be cheesed off if this one had to disappear.

I think this is probably a brand rationalising exercise from HSBC. Dont expect anything to happen fast but in due course you may find you are transferred to one of their cards.

Keep an eye on you rate though! They are going up industry wide and Marbles no longer needs to attract new customers.

Looks like you've lost your Marbles then.
